2. ALIGNMENT

B. Alignment Reduction

If you deploy your corporate fighters in groups of about 20 per sector in defensive mode, when good aligned traders come warping through destroying your fighters, it will gradually erode their alignment. If they're not careful they could find themselves turning evil in an ISS! (This only works if you are good aligned also)"I believe this is either sysop configurable or only true in older versions of TW2002 before ver. 2.01](DMD 5/30/96)

Q: A Corporation in my game deploys a bunch of fighters around the universe, it's killing my alignment taking out their fighters! How can I get around this?

A: Rather then attacking with enough fighters to take out the whole group, attack with 1 or 2 fighters at a time and wear them down. In addition to not losing your alignment, your enemy will have pages upon pages of messages to wade through! Better use a macro for this. If your alignment drops below 1000 you can get it back to 1000 by asking for another commission.

"This is not the case with Version 2.0, beta 8. You have to work up to it again." (DMD 4/25/96)]

"One good way to go evil quick that takes one turn, and only one turn, and should be done only if you have little to no experience. This method is easy. Go to the StarDock, and go to the Lost Trader's Tavern. Talk to the 'Grimy Trader in back', and say an expletive to him. The F-word suffices. Your alignment and experience will both go down by one. If you're a newbie in the game, and have no experience, you can't lose any. Only your alignment will go negative." (TWB p. 10, ¶2, 1993)

The BEST way to lose all alignment (good or evil) is to get killed at the stardock.. You can do this by going there and then hit "u" and just keep giving him the wrong password until he kills you. This will cost a days play so it's best to do this after having played your turns for the day. When you log back in,you'll be at 0 alignment and 0 experience. (TW-FIDO, David Mccartney, 06/25/96 )
