You can access the Underground after entering the StarDock by pressing "U." To access the secret password you have to talk to the Grimy Trader at the Trader's Tavern within StarDock. First, type "Underground" when the Grimy Trader asks what you want to know about. Then he asks if you're willing to pay for the password. The usual price is between 1,500 to 2,500 credits. Another interesting note is the password is changed by every player who enters the Underground.

I was unable to place a contract on someone who was not on the current list of contracts. It asks for their rank number which appears on the contract list but not the overall game rankings under the Computer menu. Not really sure how this system works. I noticed the same thing within the Federation Police's reward area (i.e. posting rewards on traders who were not on the Feds' current list). (DMD 4/10/96)
 
Q: "It seems ...the Grimy Trader no longer wants to give out trader information anymore (version 2.01). A: Trader is sysop configurable. If your sysop turned it off it won't reveal any trader locations. It will however reveal the Underground as it is part of the game.
